JOB SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable Sr. Specialist is responsible to ensure their team is providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate accounting operations. Responsible to locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, fax, or email to secure payment. Ensures team follows and adheres to accounting policies and procedures and offers suggestions and implements (when needed) for improved efficiencies and controls where appropriate and implements these changes.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS AND ACTIVITIES
Typical tasks and activities for this job include, but are not limited to the items listed below. Additional duties may be assigned as needed by management.

Branch/Customer/Management Support
Perform the day to day processing of customer collections to ensure that customer accounts are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
--Locate, notify, and record delinquent customer accounts to secure payment.
--Monitor and contact customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.
--Confer with customers to determine reasons for overdue payments and to review the terms of sales, service, or credit concerns.
--Advise and/or arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customer's financial situations.
--Encourage customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts, lost or damage claims, or non-payable checks, or to return the merchandise.
--Investigate and resolve customer queries, as necessary.
--Update customer files as requested.
--Reconcile and monitor customer accounts.
--Ensure weekly conference call with branches occurs and is handled in an effective and efficient manner.
--Create, print and/or distribute financial reports, as needed.
--Proactively search for efficiency in current processes.
--Assist in the development and testing of new processes.
--Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Perform the day to day oversight of team. Duties may include, but are not limited to
--Ensure team members are on track to complete daily tasks and inform supervisor of any concerns
--Handle team questions as they arise
--Create coverage schedule to ensure tasks are covered while employee(s) are away – such as organizing conference call coverage, call list coverage, etc.
--Email coverage and phone forwarding for anyone gone partial day
--Create/distribute daily ATB's, distribute declined credit card report and approve customer refund request, when needed
--Create, print, review and/or distribute financial information, as needed
--Offers suggestions/improvements for efficiencies – including testing of new processes, etc.
--Join and participate in team lead meetings
--Train new employees, when needed
--Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Organizational Functions
--Completes formal yearly performance discussions with supervisor and/or manager. Ensures his/her personal efforts are aligned with corporate collections goals and that he/she is steadfastly enhancing his/her skills and abilities.
--Proactively assists CRC staff and management with activities geared toward achieving accounting team objectives.
--Applies concepts and learning from development programs to ensure corporate business goals are met. Consistently seeks the long-term development as an accounting professional.
--Creates and supports a culture of adherence to corporate standardization in support of financial, service, ethics, and safety goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has limited direct supervisory responsibility.
 
Team and Work Orientation
This position will be expected to work with various external customers, as well as, individuals/teams at the CRC and with branch/service center locations teams to collaboratively support, develop, and execute on collection effort(s).
 
Work Environment
This position will have an assigned workplace in an office environment.
 
Travel Requirements:
This position has no travel requirements.

Must be fluent in French

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Potential candidates for this job will be sought that have strong indication of capability with the following items.

Minimum Education/Experience
--Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Admin or relevant work experience.
--Strong analytical, problem solving, attention to detail, and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
--Exceptional self-control: maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.
--Reliable, responsible, dependable, and strong focus on fulfilling obligations.
--Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
--Capability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Education Experience
--Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Admin.
--Two to three years experience in a collections position.
--Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced organization.
