Job DescriptionWHAT'S THE JOB?The Breakfast Cook contributes to the overall success of the culinary team by getting our guests started each day with a hearty breakfast. Working overnight, the Breakfast Cook is responsible for producing all required items as per contract scope daily, while maintaining a clean and enticing display of products during service. The Breakfast Cook will demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:All meals and accommodations are provided Travel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in the Thunder Bay, Dryden and surrounding areaPrivate room with cable television Access to Wi-Fi Access to laundry facilities and detergents Access to a gym and common areas Key responsibilities include:Preparing and cooking breakfast for guests at siteEnsuring consistent quality of standard in over-all food preparation as per clients' requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitization in the kitchen Complying with food safety regulations in accordance with Food Safety ActCleaning, washing and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas Preparing adequate quantities of the menu choices by following all production quotas set and budget guidelinesFollowing proper storage and rotation of all food suppliesQualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Previous experience providing a hot breakfast service in high volumes is requiredCurrent Food Safe certificate is requiredLarge-scale cooking experience in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong assetRed Seal or other certifications is an assetExperience in accurately producing weekly inventoriesExperience with producing baked goods (scratch baking and/or pre-fab items) is an assetPrevious supervisory experience is an assetA team-player who is committed to providing client satisfactionMust have valid government issued photo ID for travel to siteBe able to handle the following physical demands:Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbsClimb ladders or stairsStand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of timePerform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both handsPerform work with arms at full lengthWork with arms above shoulder height
