Job descriptionHireArt is helping our client find a Shift Lead to oversee the frontline operators and ensure efficient execution of daily shift activities.In this role, you will serve as the key operational point of contact during your shift, directly managing vehicle assignments, triage escalations, and team performance. You will also partner closely with the site lead to implement local strategy and uphold policies, and maintain alignment with broader organizational goals.We're looking for candidates with strong leadership and situational awareness to ensure safety, quality, and consistency in AV testing operations.As Shift Lead, you'll:Lead and support a team of operators during your assigned shift, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and shift expectations.Develop and communicate daily shift-level operations plans based on testing priorities, vehicle availability, and personnel coverage.Own shift-level people management responsibilities, including attendance tracking, policy adherence, and coaching on performance or conduct.Act as the shift escalation point for operator concerns, vehicle faults, and workflow blockers, including triage coordination.Monitor vehicle deployment execution and shift progress against planned testing metrics; summarize outcomes for handoff and reporting.Ensure operators follow safety protocols and maintain a “safety first” mindset across all shift activities.Provide fleet and program-level updates to the site lead and other stakeholders as needed.Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational workflows, including post-shift reviews and root cause assessments.Requirements3+ years of experience in operations, field team leadership, or vehicle/fleet coordinationStrong leadership, communication, and team management skillsProven ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressureExperience guiding frontline teams in a dynamic, tech-driven environmentA proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team supportFamiliarity with vehicle testing workflows, shift scheduling, and operations documentationA safety-first mindset with a track record of promoting safe operational practicesNice-to-Have:Experience in the following:Autonomous vehicles, automotive testing, or robotics systemsFleet Management Systems (e.g., Fleetio), Slack, Jira, Confluence, and Google WorkspaceLeading contract/contingent workforces in field environmentsSupporting multi-program vehicle operations in a cross-functional settingKnowledge of basic telemetry systems, software deployment processes, or AV health toolsBenefits:Pre-tax commuter benefitsEmployer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefitsFlexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costsHireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance401k packageCommitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt.
