Your Opportunity:This is an exciting clinical leadership opportunity within the Edmonton Zone Allied Health Community department supporting the Pediatric Community Rehab Team. Reporting to the Manager, Allied Health Community, the Occupational Therapy Team Lead is responsible and accountable for planning/implementation/evaluation of clinical services; providing strong clinical leadership and support to front-line service providers. The successful candidate will maintain strong communication links with Allied Health management, clinical practice leaders, AHS partners and external stakeholders. The Team lead will support staff in the provision of high quality, evidence-informed practice in alignment with departmental and organizational mission, vision and values. The Team lead will identify, report and supporting the implementation of corrective actions for concerns identified related to patient and/or staff safety. The OT Team Leader will also be responsible for the provision of some direct client care services. The Team Lead develops and maintains strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to provide leadership and support to the Pediatric Community Rehab program. The successful candidate will work closely with the Allied Health leadership team to support staff in the provision of seamless, high quality and sustainable client care.Description: As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for the coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As assigned, you will carry out the roles of a direct clinical service provider, consultant, educator and/or advocate in your program or service area. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).Additional Required Qualifications: CPR certification Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal/public relations skills are required as are excellent communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients and families, program staff and community partners. Superior clinical judgement, critical thinking skills and ability to integrate new learning. Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Able to sit or stand for long periods, able to lift up to 30 lbs., bend, twist.Preferred Qualifications:
