Are you a proactive, hands-on project specialist with deep expertise in Compensation, People and Data Analytics? As the Project Manager, HR People and Data Analytics, you will play an integral, hands-on action-oriented role supporting the people and platforms behind Canada’s national defence projects. Working directly within a dynamic HR team, you’ll be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR Systems initiatives and driving process improvements from the ground up—whether it’s configuration, enhancing system capabilities, or automating data flows to ensure a future-ready HR infrastructure.In this role, you will be directly involved in hands-on compensation analytics, including managing annual salary adjustment cycle, conducting compensation research including economic, performance pay and performance management trends, and leveraging HRMS data to align compensation strategies with business objectives. You will prepare and deliver detailed reports, provide insight for salary planning, and collaborate with leaders to ensure compensation decisions are data-driven and equitable.Your technical acumen will be essential as you develop, test, and maintain Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, resolve complex compensation and data issues, and design, develop and maintain HR dashboards that provide actionable insights into workforce, compensation, and performance trends. You will lead the research and implementation of new analytics processes and provide advanced data analytics and technical support to HR colleagues—ensuring robust records management, timely reporting, and high-quality deliverables.This position requires a hands-on approach to project and risk management, from identifying and scheduling critical deliverables to monitoring project performance and ensuring compliance with HR and corporate objectives. You will foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing, coach other HR team members, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across all HR Systems projects.If you thrive in a hands-on environment, enjoy tackling complex compensation challenges, and are passionate about leveraging data analytics to advance HR solutions in support of national priorities, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIESThe duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all inclusive:PrimaryLead the delivery and management of HR Systems projects, including status reporting, resource planning, task management, risk management, budgeting and scheduling Develop detailed project descriptions in support of the HR and corporate planning processIdentify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasksProvide guidance, training and coaching to other HR team membersLead the change management process on HR Systems projects Collaborate with key stakeholders to define HR Systems project requirements Research, recommend, develop, document and implement solutions to enhance existing processes and improve the success rate of HR Systems projectsDevelop and maintain a lessons learned approach for use on future projectsAssess, mitigate and monitor risks associated with HR Systems projectsDevelop and implement compensation, payroll, pension and benefits processes and programs, and practicesDevelop, implement and maintain human resources reporting and data analytics for the Human Resources team and DCCResearch, illustrate and present annual compensation recommendations including Pay Equity Plan and compensation analyticsProvide direction and advice to other team members and senior management about complex compensation, payroll and HRIS processes, testing, data analytics and reportingAssist with human resources special projects, as requiredEnsure compliance of all HRIS and data analytics practices with relevant laws and regulations, focusing on data privacy and security,Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, Client-Partners and/or stakeholdersEnsure quality standards are met, in line with corporate expectationsOtherDevelop and maintain the effectiveness of HR business systems, processes and policiesOther duties as assignedSKILLS General and Specific KnowledgeBest practices, methods, trends and legislation in Human Resources with a focus on compensation, HCM, data analytics and payrollEnterprise resource planning and HCM systemsWorkplace collaboration systemsProject and risk management principlesFormal Education and/or Certification(s) and ExperienceMinimum: university degree in computer science, Human Resources Management or related field with six years’ relevant experience, or the equivalentPreferred: Certified Human Resources Leader or Certified Payroll Manager designation, or the equivalent, additional training in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional certification)AbilitiesDisplay strong communication skillsUse computer programs to perform advanced tasksDemonstrate exceptional HCM technical skills and data analyticsApply project and risk management techniquesDemonstrate attention to detailResearch and write presentationDEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIPProvide functional direction and advice to employees and senior managementWORKING CONDITIONS Typical office environment with occasional travelCheck out the benefitsWorking with DCC offers excellent opportunities for growth – and entitles you to one of the job market’s best benefits packages.
