Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an ambitious and visionary Electrical Department Manager to lead our Electrical Engineering team in the London/Kitchener region. While the role is anchored in Ontario, the excitement extends far further: you’ll have opportunities to collaborate across national and global AECOM teams, connecting with top professionals worldwide and contributing to projects that transcend borders.At AECOM, your leadership will not only strengthen local delivery but also drive nationwide impact and international collaboration - setting benchmarks for technical excellence and positioning our Electrical Engineering practice as a trusted partner in shaping the built environment around the globe.Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Lead and inspire – Provide vision, mentorship, and empowerment to a high-performing team of engineers and technicians, ensuring both team success and individual growth.Drive national and global collaboration – Engage with AECOM’s network of offices and specialists across Canada and internationally, creating opportunities to work on transformative, large-scale projects.Deliver technical excellence – Act as a Senior Engineer on projects, guiding design strategies and ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation.Shape major projects – Oversee electrical systems for cutting-edge buildings and infrastructure, tackling complex challenges with creativity and rigor.Grow the business – Contribute to proposals, strengthen client relationships, and open new opportunities across local, national, and global markets.Champion sustainability and innovation – Stay ahead of codes, technologies, and design practices, embedding future-ready and sustainable solutions in every project.Develop the next generation – Coach and support junior staff, fostering professional growth and building the leadership pipeline of tomorrow.QualificationsMinimum Responsibilities:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 10 years of hands-on experience.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Ontario.Preferred Requirements: 15+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience in consulting or design-build firms.Previous experience managing an Electrical Engineering Department or leading a technical team.Strong client-facing and presentation skills.Expertise in power systems design (MV and LV).Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD in BIM design environments.Track record of solving complex engineering problems with innovative approaches.Experience across multiple markets, including DoD, Healthcare, Labs, and Commercial/Mixed-Use.Commitment to sustainable design practices and energy-efficient solutions.Success working on high-profile, architecturally significant projects.Additional InformationRelocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
