Be part of a Specialty Solutions leader with a book of business that spans more than 180 countries and seize the chance to make a global impact as we continue to grow beyond $20 billion of total annual premiums.We’re looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Renewable Energy teamWhat you’ll do here:Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following Intact underwriting guidelines and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and subject to authority level as specified by underwriting manager.Develop business opportunities and long-term meaningful relationships with our broker partners by providing legendary service.Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.Answer inquiries and make recommendations to brokers and underwriters through verbal and written correspondence.Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.Review underwriting reports and make recommendations as required.Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products.Support and mentor team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.What you bring to the table:Post-secondary education or any combination of equivalent education and experienceMinimum 5 years underwriting experience in Specialty Lines or mid-to large market in Commercial Lines, and 1-2 years in energy underwriting.Experience in renewable energy underwriting is an asset.Strong customer service skills.Demonstrates initiative, the ability to work under pressure, and are flexible to changeStrong analytical, negotiating skills and business savvyCan develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokersCan make decisions in time sensitive situations, address complex problems, provide recommended course of action and take calculated risksStrong verbal and written communication skillsSound knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an intermediate Excel proficiencyNo Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country#LI- HybridIl s'agit d'un nouveau rôle au sein de notre équipe en plein croissance | This role is a new member of our growing team.
