This role provides technical leadership and strategic direction to ensure long-term system planning while driving performance improvements across the utility's infrastructure. Opportunity Awaits - Move to Medicine HatYour key responsibilities Lead professional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and timely results.Provide expert technical guidance, review, and approval for distribution engineering designs, studies, and construction packages.Identify and address system reliability challenges by developing effective mitigation strategies.Monitor system capacity and contribute to long-term planning initiatives, including growth forecasting and infrastructure needs.What you bring Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.Organizational awareness with the ability to balance strategic thinking and day-to-day operational leadership.Knowledge of project management principles, as well as competitive bidding processes, contract negotiation and contract management.Qualifications Successful completion of degree in Electrical Engineering, from a recognized post-secondary institution.Seven (7) years directly related work experience as a Professional Engineer in the utility industry including experience in asset management and system growth programs, as well as three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registered or eligible for registration with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.Why join us?
