Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Places sector is seeking a Structural Technician for immediate employment for the Kitchener, ON office with opportunities for hybrid work.  Major Responsibilities:Conduct structural drafting / 3D BIM for concrete, steel, and wood buildingsPrepares finished design drawings from sketches, notes, and detailsSupport structural analysis of buildings and structures with little guidanceSupporting the preparation of the specifications and maintaining project documentation including quality review documentation.Supporting packages preparation and submissionMonitor and track construction progress and conformity with AECOM design and contract conformanceGeneral understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlinesSelf-checks drawings for quality assuranceSupport with field inspection and construction administrationWorks in team-based environment that involves coordination with colleagues in different disciplines and officesPerforms the responsibilities under limited supervisionWork both in office and field settings QualificationsMinimum Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum: College diploma in Engineering Technology + four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProficient in 3D Revit/BIM draftingGood written and oral communication skillsHolding or the ability to obtain Secret Level security clearancePreferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering is an assetEIT, C. Tech or CET designation, or working towards certificationAble to develop and advance drawings from conceptual to detailed design stage with little instructionAbility to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a mustFamiliar with software such as: AutoCAD 2015 or later, Autodesk Revit Family/BIM Software and MicroStation V.8 or laterFamiliar with Ontario building codeAbility to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independentlySelf-motivated, detail oriented and multi-taskingAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this positionSponsorship is not available for this positionAbout AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
