About the Role:We are looking for a highly skilled Senior PHP Backend Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize backend services that power our core business systems. You’ll collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.Requirements Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using PHP (Laravel preferred)Lead architecture discussions and provide guidance on best practicesWrite clean, maintainable, and testable codeOptimize application performance and scalabilityReview code and mentor junior developersCollaborate with front-end developers and product teams to deliver end-to-end featuresIntegrate with internal and external APIs and servicesParticipate in incident analysis and continuous improvement of system reliabilityRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience in PHP backend developmentStrong expertise in Laravel or other PHP frameworksSolid understanding of MySQL or PostgreSQL, query optimization, indexingExperience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systemsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Linux environmentsGood understanding of Redis and message queuesStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsExperience in high-concurrency or high-availability systems is a major plusGood communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsWork onsite(1 day WFH each week)Nice-to-HaveExperience with Elasticsearch or other NoSQL toolsKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / AliCloud)Familiarity with front-end stacks is a plusChinese communication skills are preferred.BenefitsDental, Vision, Medical insurance, Paid Holiday, Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Leave, Management training programsSalary range $85,000 to $ 105,000CAD
