The Pharmacist has accountability and responsibility for the procurement and dispensing of medications, as well as their safe and effective use by patients, the prevention of disease and the promotion of health and wellness and independent prescribing within collaborative practices. The Pharmacist provides information about the optimal use of medications and promotes the cost effectiveness of medications through evidence based decision making. Further, pharmacists contribute to the knowledge base of drug information by partaking in practice based research initiatives, and promoting evidence based practice or services through drug use evaluation.The Pharmacist ensures that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health such as the vision, mission, values, expected behaviours, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and inter-professional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Bachelor of Science in PharmacyLicensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia Pharmacy Regulator (NSPR)Two (2) years recent related experience an assetCompletion of a hospital residency program an assetMember of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists an assetBLS (Basic Life Support) requiredComputer proficiencyKnowledge of pharmacokinetics relevant to area of practice/populations servedDemonstrated accountabilityDemonstrated judgement and decision making skillsStrong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationshipsDemonstrated communication and conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated collaboration and teamwork skillsCommitment to continuous improvement and innovationDemonstrated leadership abilitiesDemonstrated planning, organization and time management skillsCommitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational healthTravel may be requiredCompetencies in other languages asset; French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly Compensation and Benefits$49.42 - $63.29 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.  Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
