Description : As a Procurement Specialist, you will plan, organize, and control activities related to the purchase of indirect goods and services for all Alcoa Canada smelters. This role reports directly to the Indirect Commodities Manager located in Canada. The main mandate of this role is to support regional and global purchasing of indirect goods and services by optimizing process value for Alcoa (price, quality, total cost of ownership, service, etc.). To do this, you will act as an indirect commodities procurement specialist, supporting various stakeholders by responding to different requests from the organization or its internal clients. In your role, you will be called upon to actively conduct research, market and tender analyses, negotiations, drafting, monitoring, and implementation of procurement contracts with suppliers.Main Responsibilities:Collaborate with local, regional, and global teammates and with the various departments involved in the procurement process.Act as a resource person for commodity suppliers and clients involved at all stages of the process.Build trust-based relationships with suppliers of goods and services.Perform customer service follow-ups to ensure process efficiency.Use and optimize existing procurement processes; develop markets, suppliers, tools, etc.Communicate with other group plants and regions to standardize processes and/or best practices related to commodities.Participate in and/or lead the development of new procurement tools (electronic catalogs, electronic tenders, auctions, AI, etc.).Handle requests from on-site contract managers, internal clients, and suppliers by analyzing them, proposing solutions, and ensuring follow-up on resulting actions.Contribute to reducing the acquisition costs of goods and services.Ensure processes are in line with objectives established by the corporate group.Develop purchasing strategies that consider internal plant constraints while helping to optimize value by leveraging at the regional and global level.Use high yield tool to perform contract negotiation with suppliers.Lead or participate in the development, renewal, and implementation of new regional, global contracts and/or modifications to existing contracts.Lead or participate in various meetings and produce appropriate reports and/or follow-ups.Ensure implementation, compliance, and monitoring requirements for ASAT purchases.Participate in various training and practices (integrity, buyer, procedures, etc.).Perform other related tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the procurement process.Conduct market analysis to develop procurement strategies.Collaborate in setting savings objectives and implement and monitor actions to achieve these objectives.Ensure that savings are recorded and tracked in the system.Perform tasks to comply with or stay within allocated budget limits.Conduct detailed data analysis to obtain various useful information on the performance of different files (trends, estimated costs, estimated savings, etc.).Develop and implement KPI performance indicators to ensure that supplier and/or process performance meets or exceeds expectations.Profile :Bachelor’s degree / College diploma in a related field. A college diploma may be considered if combined with significant relevant experience.Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for the position.Excellent knowledge of French and English (spoken and written).Strong negotiation and influencing skills.Knowledge of the following software: “Microsoft Office” (in-depth knowledge of Excel and Outlook).Skills and knowledge in project management.Leadership and change agent.Good sense of confidentiality.Working Conditions:Maternity leave replacement, approximately 12 months (May 2026)Full-time (40 hours/week).This role can be located at one of the following smelters: Deschambault, Bécancour, or Baie-Comeau.Flexibility / Occasional remote work possible.
