A client of ours in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled Journeyperson Millwright to join their maintenance team. This role is essential for ensuring the continuous operation of high-speed production lines, involving the repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of complex mechanical and electrical systems. If you are a solution-based professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a premier production site in the Calgary area.Pay rate: $47.75 – $49.75 per hour There is guaranteed pay raises after probation and after completing certain hours marks. 2 week rotations Shift:Morning - 6:00-2:30pm Afternoon - 2:00pm - 10:30pm Nights - 10:00pm - 6:30am AdvantagesCompetitive unionized environment with structured wage growth.Premium available for dual-ticketed professionals (Electrician/Millwright).Opportunity to work with advanced high-speed packaging machinery and conveyors.Comprehensive internal training and a focus on long-term equipment reliability.Full-time, stable hours with a predictable 5x8 hour shift rotation.ResponsibilitiesInstall, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and high-speed packaging machinery.Conduct comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for precision repairs.Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.Document all work orders, inventory usage, and labor hours within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Perform machining, fabrication, and welding tasks as needed to support equipment upgrades.Ensure all work adheres to strict food safety (HACCP), quality (GMP), and health and safety regulations.QualificationsOpen to considering 4th year who are applicable for journeyman schoolingValid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson Certificate is required.Dual-Ticket (Electrician/Millwright) is considered a significant asset.Experience in manufacturing with conveyors and machinery is an assetExperience in food or beverage production is an asset Strong mechanical knowledge of power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, and stationary engines.Ability to work comfortably around alcohol production and adhere to strict hygiene standards (hair nets/beard nets).Must provide your own tools; specialized PPE will be provided.Physically capable of heavy lifting and standing/walking for the duration of the shift.SummaryThe preferred and required method for application is online.
