Job DescriptionSuccessful candidate is a member of the Clinical Nutrition and Food Services Management Team, working with the Director, and Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Department. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision of all staff in Patient Food Services and will provide leadership in the development of a superior customer service culture in Food Services. The successful incumbent will supervise the daily operations of the Food Services Department, including meal service to patients, sanitation, warewashing and security. You will ensure that all work practices are in keeping with Hospital, Departmental, and legislated standards ( HACCP, Public Health, Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act, Workplace Safety and OH&S Act). You will be responsible for the labor management of staff, providing employee technical and non-technical training, coaching and development, recruitment, orientation, performance and attendance management, discipline, quality audits, job shadowing and workload assessment. You will work closely with the nursing units, clinical areas and other non-clinical areas/departmentsQualificationsSuccessful completion of a Food Service Supervisor diploma requiredActive membership in Canadian Society for Nutrition Management Membership requiredMust be willing to complete Advanced Food Safety CertificationA minimum of 3 years experience working as a Food Services Supervisor requiredPrevious experience working as a Food Services Supervisor in a hospital setting preferredWorking knowledge of WHMIS and HACCP requiredProven ability to manage supply/labor budgets to include labor relations and compliance within the local and central collective agreements of unionized staff.Monitoring performance and hospital policies within a healthcare environment.Action oriented approach to problem solving and trouble shootingExperience in large scale food production and service requiredExcellent time management skills and proven initiativeMust be self-directed with excellent organizational skillsProven ability to effectively manage operations and staffExcellent communication skills both written and verbalProficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint requiredPrevious working knowledge of Food Service computer systems preferredMust be able to meet the physical demands of the position.Satisfactory employment and attendance record requiredAdditional InformationStatus: Temporary Part-time (Approx. 6 months)Hours: Monday to Sunday, various rotating hour shifts; 06:30-14:30, 09:30-17:30, 12:15-20:15 (hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)Salary: $ to $ per hourDate Posted: January 6, 2026Internal application deadline: January 13, 2026REF3067I
