We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Residential team in Iqaluit, NU. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be critical to our delivery of world-class customer service in our buildings that depicts pride of ownership and respect for our residents. Responsibilities: Ensuring safety, complying with Northview's Health and Safety requirementsDrywall repairs, painting preparation, and painting, and minor electrical and plumbing repairsMinor plumbing repairs such as plunging toilets, bathtubs, and sinks. Replacement of faucet cartridges, bleeding air in radiators, restarting the boilers, and replacing tank leverMinor renovation of kitchen cabinets, doors, cupboards, and windowsRepair and replacement of locksMinor electrical repairs including replacing and repairing electrical locks and checking all security systemsRepair and maintain stoves and refrigeratorsAssisting with and/or performing suite renovations and other minor upgradesMoving equipment, materials, and suppliesResponding, troubleshooting, and prioritizing work orders and handling emergency situations in a timely mannerRemoval of snow off walkways and common areas, as neededDelivery of notices to building residents & posting of notices in common areas where applicableConduct building inspectionsMaintain tools and equipmentWork as part of an on-call rotation team responding to work orders and emergencies (defined by Northview after-hour emergency protocol)Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programsResident services and assistance as required and maintaining good resident relations Qualifications: Previous experience in building maintenanceAble to provide a criminal record check that is free of relevant convictionsIf using a company vehicle, provide annual driver's abstract and proof of a valid driver's licenseAble to lift up to 50 lbs, work with and climb stairs with equipment and supplies Benefits Competitive payExtended health care including medical, dental, and vision coverageLife insurance, drug coverage, and wellness programsDiscounts on rent at Northview propertiesVacation Travel Assistance for Northern employees If your background matches the qualifications listed above and you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the communities we serve, please submit your resume in confidence. Please note, only those candidates chosen to continue through the selection process will be contacted.
