The Digital Transformation team is part of Developments, which works on delivering value, growth and future opportunities to the Atlantic Region. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on the design and delivery of data-driven digital solutions for various stakeholders, including Production, Operations, Engineering and Maintenance. Recent use cases include oil production and gas handing data analytics, comparison of oil production forecasts vs. actual production and variance reporting, and the monitoring and anomaly detection for plant equipment using machine learning.Note: The application deadline for this position is January 19, 2026, at 11:59 PM (MST).Consistent with the Accords Act, residents of Newfoundland and Labrador specifically and Canada generally, who are qualified, will be given first consideration for training and employment.What you’ll doDefine data workflows and data analysis requirements to support the identified use casesDefine data maps, design and construct data models, and rationalize and standardize data from various data sourcesPrepare raw data for consumption including data structuring, cleansing, enriching, mapping, transforming, and validating as requiredDesign and develop data integrations from source to target systems (ETL/ELT)Design and develop interactive data solutions including data entry interfaces, analytical tools, visualizations and reports to support operational and performance management requirementsAssist with data management and governance activities required to manage and maintain data solutionsWho you areOur ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa) Available to begin work in May 2026Critical thinker with the ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, hard-working, team environmentFlexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritizeInnovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes, or solutionsCollaborative, actively engage with a diverse stakeholder group to collectively achieve business goalsStrong written and oral communication skills are essentialExperience with developing data solutions based on Python, SQL, a data analytics platform such as Spotfire or PowerBI, and one or more database systems such as PostgreSQL or Databricks is considered an assetStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detailWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Education Must be enrolled in a Computer, Electrical, Process or Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work termCandidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
