Description :Position SummaryAssist with identifying or verifying required maintenance work, interpreting contracts, scheduling and coordinating in- house or sub-contractor work and ensuring work meets contract specifications. Assists with ensuring all aspects of the contract are coordinated and completed in a timely, efficient, effective and profitable manner.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsureservicesprovidedareincompliancewithapprovedperformancestandardsPerform condition assessments of pavements, signs, guardrails, bridges, vegetation and other contract Assist with scheduling and coordinating work to be performed.CompletepaperworkperformedbyensurecompliancewithcontractrequirementsDevelop and manage performance of all patrol staffAssist with managing, monitoring and controlling highway project assets and materialsIdentify opportunities for changes and improvements in work methods, processes, efficiency and cost reductionAccurate and timely completion and entry of work reporting and times sheetsPurchase supplies and maintaining an inventory of all supplies with in the assigned patrol areaCoordinate and track all required new hire training and on going required safety and work standard trainingAssist with inspection, calibration and repair of fleetInvestigate and report all accidents/incidentsWork with office manager and Health and Safety Manger on all accident/incidents that result in WSIB claimResponsibleforcompletingandupdatingschedulesforwinterstafftoensurecomplianceoftheCollectiveAll other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of basic math functions and calculations (add, subtract, multiply divide, and calculate proportions, percentages, measurements, proportions, percentages, area and circumference).Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures andAbility to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to multitask, use resources effectively and meet scheduledProficiency in MSOffice Suite and familiarity with the with the InternetAbility to communicate with co-workers/subcontractors, understand and follow verbal and written safety Ability to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tool sand equipment, while driving or operating equipment.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma (minimum), equivalent work experience will be taken into considerationMinimum three years' work experience in construction and/or road maintenance industry(preferred).Valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record (required)Work Conditions/Physical DemandsPhysical Demands:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted,Use manual land powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tool sand equipmentWork Environment:The incumbent will split working time between office and fieldWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
