Join us today THE JOB: Portfolio Liaison, SSC The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range. Starting Salary Range: $90,640- $113,300 Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Quality Improvement the Portfolio Liaison SSC will lead the formulation and execution of strategic initiatives and will work closely with senior leadership, including MoH, Health Authorities and physicians, to ensure a shared understanding of priorities and issues. The Portfolio Liaison will also be responsible for co-developing strategies with Provincial Physicians Leads, proposing strategies and work plans to senior committees (QIWG, SSC/PSC), and adjusting plans as needed in response to shifting priorities. A key aspect of this role is working with partners to leverage the capacity of the 800+ physicians who have completed PQI Level 3/Gold training. The Portfolio Liaison creates strategies and is responsible for the implementation across the system in collaboration with partners. The Portfolio Liaison will lead the development of tactics related to connecting and cultivating a network of physicians, providing options for further teaching and learnings of QI, along with applying their training in QI projects and medical leadership positions. This role will support the provincial team in developing and implementing a plan that shifts current programs towards impact and positioning the work to transition toward a Whole System Quality approach in BC within the context of the SSC. In addition to strategic development, the Portfolio Liaison will manage the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with internal and external teams to develop comprehensive operational plans, manage budgets, and report progress. The role includes monitoring the impact of initiatives through continuous evaluation, ensuring alignment, and driving innovation for sustainability. This role also requires strong leadership skills to guide both internal and external teams, providing support, fostering collaboration, and ensuring timely delivery of services. The Portfolio Liaison will be responsible for regular reporting to various leadership groups and committees, ensuring transparency and effective communication across all stakeholders, including regional health authorities, MoH, and physicians. Flexibility for meetings outside regular business hours may be required. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Relationship Building (A): Ability to set objectives necessary for obtaining feedback and assistance. Negotiates in a constructive manner when tackling difficult issues, making realistic compromises during negotiations. WHAT YOU BRING A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or recognized professional designation in related field, and up to six years of progressive and related experience OR an equivalent level of related work experience in-lieu of post-secondary education. Public engagement training, project management and change management training and experience is an asset. Detailed knowledge of health regions and current issues and trends is required, and experience working with health authorities, facilities and physicians is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of health care system is helpful, accompanied by an understanding of how to facilitate linkages across health care partners, including Ministry of Health, specialist clinics / offices and technology vendors. An understanding of private physician offices and Health Authority managed programs is an asset Comfortable receiving nominal direction from department leadership regarding strategy and related objectives and activities on initiatives and projects. Experience leading complex and adaptive change, including implementing and coordinating provincial initiatives Strong problem solving skills at both operational and strategic level with ability to integrate knowledge from several disciplines or areas of expertise Considerable research & analytical experience in completing projects and initiatives Proven ability to work with diverse groups with differing interests and motivations, with activities and recommendations having a wide-ranging impact on client group Successful in working highly autonomously, and accesses guidance only when critically required from directors and executives. Effective communication and presentation skills, as well as strong written skills including proven ability to develop clear, concise and comprehensive reports and other documents. Experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring. Excellent computer skills required including word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software; as well as demonstrated proficiency with PC based soft, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook . Travel within BC may be required in the role, up to twice per month, or as needed. There are regular evening meetings, most of which can be attended virtually, but flexibility to support the programs needs is required.
