The Business Analyst I supports on enterprise information technology requirements fulfilment. This includes functional support, issues triage, testing co-ordination, super/end user training, system enhancement request validation and business case development.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
Works with decision makers, systems owners and end users to identify and define business operations requirements and systems goals. Conducts gap analysis between "as is" processes and "future state" processes and produces the corresponding documentation for future state Evaluates and recommends business solutions based on user needs, product research and business financial analyses (cost/benefit analysis, return on investment analysis, , allowing management to make informed decisions. Participates in the planning, design, development, deployment and enhancement of existing and new applications. Gathers functional and technical requirements using techniques such as interviews, site visits, surveys, document analysis, workshops, process analysis. Produces business requirements document, functional requirements, technical requirements, process flow diagrams, gap analysis and use cases. Participates in the configuration and deployment of new application systems and/or enhancements to existing application systems throughout the organization. Coordinate the user acceptance testing process for new application systems. Identifies potential problem areas and makes the appropriate recommendations. Liaises with company's software suppliers for rectification of problems or emergencies. Ensures seamless transition to operations for modified and new application systems. Coordinates and performs in-depth tests and other post-implementation support for modified and new systems, including end-user reviews. Delivers training and documentation to end users for all modified and new application systems. Produces system documentation, reports, recommendations, or alternative solutions that address existing and potential trouble areas in application systems across the organization. Performs additional duties as assigned.What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or completion of a Post-secondary Diploma in Computer Science. 2 - 5 years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products, conducting research for systems issues and products (multi-stakeholder environment with different business units preferred). Experience in business process redesign including development of as-is and to-be states. Experience in the analysis of software applications, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Business Intelligence (BI). Experience in the development of business requirements, functional requirements, technical requirements, process flows, gap analyses and use cases. Formal methodology training in these areas is an asset. Knowledge of project management methodology and best practices. Knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws and IT security standards. Knowledge of network and PC operating systems and standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, Visio and SharePoint). Analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Communication, listening and interpersonal skills. Customer service orientation. Self-motivated with ability to work as a collaborative team member. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters, exemplifying a high level of ethics and integrity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
