Hours of work may include weekends and on-callWhat You'll DoControls flow and processing of water/wastewater, residuals, and finished water/effluent, operating valves and gates either manually or by remote controlMonitors gauges, meters and control panels and observes variations in operating conditionsCollects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses, interpreting test results to determine processing requirementsEnsures plant records are accurate and up to dateStarts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processesPerforms daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sampling of all aspects of the wastewater utility systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Operates, inspects and services equipment in water and wastewater, including hydraulics, pumps, valves etcPerforms related security, safety and administrative procedures involving chemical hazards, personal protective equipment, general health and safety procedures, and emergency preparednessMaintains emergency preparedness binders and field operating manualsUndertakes routine repairs to water distribution and wastewater treatment and collection systemsMaintains shift logs, recoding meter and gauge readingsPerforms other related duties as requiredWhat You'll bringEducation and ExperienceCertified Water/Wastewater Operator Level 1; may be in the process of obtaining second-level license.Our CompanyWe are is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible candidate experience.
