Develop and guide design strategies for a range of electrical systems, including: Power distribution and generation Interior and exterior lighting, including lighting controls Fire alarm systems Communication and security systems (voice/data, CCTV, public address, nurse call, etc.) Provide technical leadership and oversight to the electrical engineering team. Lead site audits, feasibility studies, and investigations, and prepare detailed reports. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of electrical design standards and practices. Mentor and support the growth of junior and intermediate engineers and designers. Assist in resolving construction-related issues through on-site troubleshooting. Collaborate with clients, contractors, sales representatives, and multidisciplinary teams; manage project documentation and coordination. Conduct site inspections, reviews, and provide support during the construction phase. Perform other duties as needed. Required Experience: Proven experience in designing complex electrical and fire alarm systems across various sectors, including residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and institutional. Hands-on experience troubleshooting on-site control and electrical system issues. Experience with medium and/or high voltage systems is considered an asset. Strong understanding and application of relevant codes and standards, including OBC, OESC, CSA, and others. Qualifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario. Minimum 10 years of electrical design experience in the building construction industry, with at least 5 years of Canadian experience. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive communication style. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure. Excellent decision-making, leadership, and communication skills.
