Job Description Engineering Delivery ManagerOttawa, Ontario - HybridPosition SummaryThe Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) is responsible for estimating, managing and directly overseeing the technical execution of a work package, he/she delivers within the approved budget and schedule. Additionally, the EDM works closely with the Project Design Authority (PDA) and the Project Manager (PM) in order to execute effectively.Key Areas of Responsibility  Contribute to Bids/Estimates for projects and changesResponsible for the technical program deliverablesDefine the Engineering team’s WBS and OBS, the engineering lifecycle, the schedule of work and the Engineering Management Plan (includes Software Development Plan)Direct and lead the team to achieve the project stage reviews and milestones to cost, schedule and acceptable qualityProvide strong technical leadership to ensure the solution is matured such that it will satisfy the requirements and achieve customer acceptance, accreditation and certificationManage project and technical risk and opportunityImplement an objective and predictive monitoring regime to enable early identification of issues and risks, and definition of recovery actions to ensure on time acceptable delivery is achievedEnsure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner in line with Legal and Company requirementsSupport interviews for new candidates and be the manager for the project teamWork collaboratively with the wider project team, alliance partner, customer/end-user, functions, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure the Project Team successfully delivers against commitments to the internal and external customersWork with the EDM team to deploy best practices and tools tailored for Work Package ManagementMinimum Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or Technical Degree/Diploma9+ Year of technical engineering experienceAt least 3 years of experience in Technical Management (as a leader of people or programs/ projects)Prior experience Estimating and Quoting Technical WorkExperience with Resource LoadingExperience Managing Project RisksExperience Planning, Delegating and Controlling Technical WorkExperience in Configuration and Data Management as well as Change ManagementExperience Closing ProjectsIdeal candidate will posses an MBA , PMP and/or be a Professional Engineer.If you’re excited about working with Thales, but not meeting the requirements for this position, we encourage you to join our Talent CommunityWhy Join Us?Say HI and learn more about working at Thales click here#LI-Hybrid#LI-RG1The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is betweenTotal Target Cash (TTC) 125,483.65 - 196,174.56 CAD AnnualThales provides an extensive benefits program for all full-time employees working 24 or more hours per week and their eligible dependents, including the following: • Company paid Extended Health, Dental, HSA, Life, AD&D, Short-term Disability, Cancer Care Program, travel insurance, Employee Assistance Plan and Well-Being program.• Retirement Savings Plans (RRSP, DCPP, TFSA) with a company contribution and a match to a DCPP, with no vesting period.• Company paid holidays, vacation days, and paid sick leave. • Voluntary Life, AD&D, Critical Illness, Long-Term Disability.• Employee Discounts on home, auto, and gym membership.Thales is an equal opportunity employer which values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
