The Meter Data Technologist is responsible for the daily operation and performance of various Meter Data Collection and Management Systems; analyze, review and validate billing data for smart and interval metered customers, collect, validate and manage suite metering accounts; liaise with external service provider and provide guidance to field crews to troubleshoot meters; analyze and conduct technical diagnosis of potentially faulty metersThe incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                            Operate and maintain the performance of the various meter data collection and data management systemsMaintain the operation of retail, FIT/MicroFIT and wholesale settlement processes including acquisition and validation, editing and estimating of interval data, monitoring for settlement irregularities, processing the Net System Load Shape and Weighted Average Price and support reconciliation of wholesale electricity billingTroubleshoot and resolve data acquisition issues with the wireless network using network specific software, e.g.  Connexo Netsense, PrimeRead and MV-90Load validation and ensure the data management system is collecting accurate and complete reading dataMaintain and monitor meter data management system and initiates appropriate action to achieve desired system performanceAnalyze load profile interval data, Time-Of-Use framing and ensure the energy consumption is accurateSupport Customer Service through the provision of interval data via web presentment, file transfer or direct customer contactAssist with the registration, commissioning, auditing, and performance testing of condominium suite meter installationsAssess and diagnose meters and meter installations for problems that may affect billing integrityProvide direction and guidance to the Certified Meter Mechanic/Testers during field operations to solve technical issuesSupport the development of complex billing processes and assist with the completion of complex billing calculationsAssist in the design, evaluation, commissioning and maintenance of metering equipmentLiaise, consult and co-ordinate with internal and external parties, for the installation, analysis and communication of suite metersResolve critical data management production problems, work with information technology and vendors to implement approved corrections or improvements to systems including software upgrades and all of the user and performance testing to approve for productionDevelop, maintain, update and complete reports, work procedures, records and documentation related to the position, as necessaryREQUIREMENTS:       University degree or college diploma (Engineering or Electrical Technologist focus preferred);5 years of relevant work experienceKnowledge of relevant software packages, including Connexo Netsense, PrimeRead, MV90 and/or IEE (Itron Enterprise Edition)Demonstrated advanced ability in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelUnderstanding of Advanced Metering Infrastructure technology and systemsKnowledge of IESO Market Settlement regulations, including Market RulesKnowledge of utility billing practices, OEB and Measurement Canada regulations, and IESO wholesale meteringExperience and knowledge with meter installations including wiring, current and potential transformers, hardware, programming and electrical theoryAbility to read and comprehend electrical single line diagramsUnderstanding of telecommunications, Wireless 4G LTE, wireless mesh networks and various data communication protocolsExperience with managing projects (budgeting, estimating, scheduling and reporting)Ability to multi-task, with strong customer service and troubleshooting skillsAdvanced communication skills, both written and verbalStrong problem solving and analytical skillsPunctual and dependable, can be counted on to attain and improve resultsInteracts effectively with others within own department and across the organizationDemonstrated organizational and time management skillsKeeps peers and supervisors informed, promotes team morale and productivityAbility to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholdersTakes advantage of educational and development activities related to the jobFollows policies and procedures of Toronto Hydro, including letters of instruction and department practices                           This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday.
