What's the role? As AVP, Operational Risk & Resilience, you will lead the development and execution of Coastal Community’s Operational Resilience Framework. You will oversee business continuity, risk monitoring, and resilience integration across departments. You will collaborate with senior executives and embed resilience into strategic planning, workflows, and culture. Your duties will include: Lead development and execution of Operational Resilience Framework and policies. Define and monitor Impact Tolerances for critical business services. Oversee Business Continuity strategy options and implementation plans. Provide oversight and challenge to first-line practices including disaster recovery and third-party resilience. Collaborate with senior leaders to integrate resilience into strategic initiatives. Build and lead a high-performing team focused on resilience and risk mitigation. Empower team members through coaching and accountability. Partner with department heads to align resilience efforts with business priorities. Facilitate cross-functional working groups on resilience topics. Direct operational resilience risk assessments and Business Impact Analyses. Monitor cyber, third-party, and process risks for resilience gaps. Coordinate third-party risk assessments and confirm risk ratings. Maintain crisis response readiness and lead simulations. Support Crisis Leader during disruptions and lead post-incident reviews. Champion resilience as a core organizational capability. Equip leaders and departments with tools and frameworks for resilience. Foster a culture of proactive risk awareness and continuous improvement. What are we looking for? Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related discipline (e.g., Business Continuity, Risk Management), advanced degree preferred. Minimum seven years of experience in operational risk, resilience, or business continuity planning. Minimum seven years of experience leading and managing people. Strong understanding of cyber, third-party, and process risk management. Experience with crisis response and control testing. Experience in OSFI and/or BCFSA regulated risk department. Advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values. Professional certification (e.g., CBCP, ISO 22301, CRMP) is an asset. Who are we?
