The successful applicant will be office-based and be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:Actively participate and drive Montrose’s strong safety cultureAct as a leader in the workplace using Montrose Standard Operating Safety and Technical ProceduresOverall accountability on a portfolio of moderately to highly complex projects for legacy upstream oil and gas facilities, including gas plants, from decommissioning to regulatory closure including Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Risk Management Plans (RMP), Remedial Action Plans (RAP), Remediation (both in-situ and ex-situ), Reclamation, Post-reclamation Monitoring, and Regulatory Closure ApplicationsOversee internal project teams across disciplines to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our client’s requirements under their environmental program management frameworkLead communication with the client’s program management team and project related stakeholdersProvide support to project managers on subcontractor and cost managementProvide senior review and approval of all technical deliverables and scopes of workPrepare and/or review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports, with a primary focus on regulatory submissions (Record of Site Conditions, Comprehensive Site Reviews, Conceptual Site Models, Phase 1 ESA, Phase 2 ESA, RMP/RAP, Detailed Site Assessments, Remedial Summary Reports, and Remediation or Reclamation Certificate Applications)Work within a well-organized, and innovative culture with support systems that empower our professionals to focus on providing high quality solutions to our clientsTransfer knowledge, share experiences, and support the training and mentorship of colleaguesBe a senior member of our technical practice community that supports team and personal innovation, and growth and success at all levelsWhat Are We Looking For:Advanced degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field preferredA minimum of fifteen (15) years of previous industry, government and/or environmentyal consulting experience with a minimum of ten (10) years of direct environmental related experience with upstream oil and gas projectsExperience and assertiveness in driving scope, schedule and budget for a portfolio of moderately complex projects in the oil and gas industryDemonstrated experience with preparing technical reports (ESAs, RMPs, RAPs, etc.), work plans, and cost estimatesExperience overseeing moderately complex projects, including review of reports and technical components such as conceptual site models, drilling plans, cross-sections, and sampling program selectionStrong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findingsSelf-motivated, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), and strong leadership skillsWillingness to provide technical direction and active mentorship to junior and intermediate professionals and project managersEligibility for registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization AIA, ASET, APEGA)Experience with various in-situ, ex-situ or thermal remediation technologies is an assetExperience with the Alberta Energy Regulator’s OneStop tool and working knowledge of provincial regulatory frameworks in Western Canada is also an assetA valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictionsWhy Choose Montrose?At Montrose you will be part of an amazing community of collaborative people who live shared mission and principles and bring industry-leading technical expertise to their work every day. This is a permanent position with an hourly rate range of $140,000 - $160,000, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
