Senior Node.js Backend Engineer

Job Title: Senior Node.js Backend Engineer Location: Toronto , Ontario Duration: 6 Months Introduction Join our dynamic team as a Senior Node.js Backend Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining high-quality backend services. We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about technology and eager to embrace new challenges in a collaborative environment. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in backend development Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including its advanced features and type system Hands-on experience with Node.js and associated frameworks (e.g., Express, NestJS) Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Understanding of modern architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven) Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills Strong communication and collaboration abilities Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and practices Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of asynchronous messaging patterns (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) Experience with GraphQL Understanding of DevSecOps principles Familiarity with front-end technologies for integration purposes Day-to-Day Responsibilities Develop, test, and deploy high-quality backend services and APIs using TypeScript Collaborate with Solution Architects to implement modern architectural patterns in code Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards Contribute to the design and development of scalable and resilient systems Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production and development environments Work with cloud platforms to deploy and manage services Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and trends Company Benefits & Culture Inclusive and diverse work environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Comprehensive benefits package For immediate consideration please click APPLY to begin the screening process with Alex.
