Duration Approximately Twelve (12) Months North Bay Regional Health Centre is designated by Ontario Health North as the lead provider for the systems enhancement component for the community of practice in Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI). The aim of this program is to develop enhanced capacity in care provision for the population through knowledge exchange, socio-demographic advocacy, and consultation with the multitude of care providers across all settings. Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health the registered nurse is responsible for the provision of knowledge transfer, inter-collaborative care planning and system coordination. The registered nurse will be an employee of North Bay Regional Health Centre and accountable to the Regional Mental Health portfolio. The incumbent will embody compassionate person-focused shared-care as in line with best practice principles and frameworks such as the Navigate Model, EPION Best Practice Standards; Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapies; family supports, and accountability to their respective regulatory body. Additionally, the incumbent reflects a commitment to the organization’s values and ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, visitors, self as well as promote an inclusive culture that meets the diverse needs of the given population. QUALIFICATIONS Certification/Experience/Knowledge: Training/certification in psychotherapy preferred Minimum three (3) to five (5) years practical experience in provision of Mental Health Care to the EPI population Knowledge and application of best practices of treatment modalities related to EPI, namely the Navigate Model Experience/proficiency in providing education to a variety of sectors, including particular knowledge/application of the principles of adult learning required Experience in developing and facilitating networks/communities of care required Knowledge of community Support Services, Primary Health Care and Mental Health systems and related legislation Skills/Abilities: Able and willing to utilize trauma informed care and leadership in all interactions Strong commitment to recovery principles and patient centred care Ability to accommodate travel required; must have a valid driver’s license and full time use of reliable vehicle is required Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey essential clinical knowledge transfer Evidence of innovative approaches to health care delivery and critical thinking skills required Familiar with program evaluation and research methodologies required Commitment to evidence-based knowledge transfer, quality improvement and change initiatives with application of Adult Education Principles Capacity for both self-direction, leadership and collaboration within the context of an interdisciplinary team; Demonstrated integrity and self-awareness of behavioural approaches and work life balance; Proven interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships with all partners in care Proven organizational and time management skills and the ability to take initiative and work autonomously; Proficient in computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Power Point etc.) Experience with OTN and Zoom an asset Ability to promote Cultural safety and Inclusion in all aspects of the position; Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization; Good attendance and work record required. Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
