Senior Privacy Impact Assessment Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialists to serve as dedicated subject matter experts for high-complexity Information Technology, data, and analytics initiatives. This role is critical for ensuring organizational compliance with legal and contractual privacy obligations while embedding "Privacy-by-Design" into the architectural fabric of digital health solutions. Pay Rate: $586.93- $621.95/DiemAdvantages- Architectural Influence: Play a leading role in the "Privacy-by-Design" lifecycle of large-scale digital health transformations.- Complex Problem Solving: Navigate the intersection of emerging technologies (APIs, Cloud, AI) and stringent health privacy legislation.- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a central SME, collaborating with legal, IT, security, and project management leads to ensure systemic compliance.- Professional Stability: Secure a high-level advisory role within a structured, project-focused environment with clear deliverables.Responsibilities- Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA): Lead and conduct PIAs and Privacy Threshold Assessments (PTAs) for medium to high-complexity projects, ensuring all documentation aligns with legislative requirements.- Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with project and product teams to develop and implement risk mitigation plans, addressing findings identified during the assessment process.- Policy & Procedure Development: Design and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and operational controls.- Architectural Advisory: Offer privacy subject matter expertise during the design phase of IT systems, including EMR/HIS infrastructure, API management, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).- Agreement Oversight: Draft and review privacy requirements for complex data-sharing agreements, ensuring all Prescribed Entity and HINP obligations are met.- Training & Culture: Develop and deliver privacy training content to foster a culture of privacy awareness across multidisciplinary teams.Qualifications- Health Privacy Expertise: (Must Have) 5+ years of experience conducting PIAs on medium to high-complexity projects within a health-regulated environment.- Operational Privacy: (Must Have) 5+ years of direct operational experience, ideally combining health sector knowledge with IT system design.- Legislative Mastery: Deep familiarity with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and its requirements for:Prescribed Entities and Prescribed PersonsHealth Information Network Providers (HINP)Electronic Service Providers (ESP)- Technical Fluency: Understanding of EMR/HIS infrastructure, API management, PKI, and cyber security industry standards.- Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree in Health, Policy, IT, Security, Law, or a related discipline.- Certifications: Recognized privacy or security certifications (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPM, CISSP) are considered a significant asset.SummaryIf you are a Senior Privacy Specialist who thrives at the intersection of complex health policy and modern IT architecture, we encourage you to apply todayRandstad Canada is committed to fostering a workforce reflective of all peoples of Canada.
