Bird is a place where you will unlock your potential and achieve your goals.The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent and will be responsible for coordination of all production requirements including but not limited to safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/sub-contractor/craft communication and management. This position will be based out of Port Hope, ON.What You Will Be Working OnWork with the business to develop business case and feasibility studies for project intakeAssist with major construction projects, including liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers and SubcontractorsSupport with the preparation and execution of overall work plan and scheduleReview and process shop drawingsCoordination of material and equipment needPrepare weekly productivity and cost trackingPrepare cost estimates for change orders and audit purposesPrice site instructions, work orders and change noticesAssist with quality assurance and management of client expectationsPrepare monthly progress application and expedite paymentsProvide document turnover to client at completion of projectAssist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reportsParticipate in on-site safety meetings and be a leader of initiativesProvide safety leadership through implementation of the Bird Safety Program and monitoring the safety performance of the project team and subcontractorsFoster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractorsBuild and manage business relationshipsWhat We Are Looking ForRecently graduated from a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management programPrevious co-op experience or involvement in relevant extracurricular activities will be considered an assetHighly motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervisionKnowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industryDriver’s license and able to operate a motor vehicle requiredFlexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environmentEffective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creativeDemonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environmentAbility to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groupsStrong written and oral communication skillsAble to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environmentAbility to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailWe Put Safety FirstA healthy and safe work environment is non-negotiable.
