Position: Respiratory Therapist/Anaesthesia Assistant Department: Perioperative Services Duration Approximately Two (2) Months QUALIFICATIONS Certification/Experience/Knowledge Requires an active General Certificate of Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario Advanced Anaesthesia Assistant Certification from an approved College required CCAA Certificate an asset Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) required (recent within the last twelve months) Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate required (training delivered by Health Centre upon hire) Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required Current Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) an asset Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) an asset Recent experience (1-2 years) as a respiratory therapist anaesthesia assistant in a hospital setting required Expanse computer software familiarity required Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team required Demonstrated commitment to professional development required Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization Good attendance and work record required Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.  All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates.
