Job Summary Come work as an Electrician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our teamAs an Electrician with VCH you will: Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, microprocessor based systems, controls, circuitry and components, including high voltage equipment of up to 12000 volts, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and the Canadian Standards Association standards using tools such as testing meters, conduit benders, drills, saws, soldering irons and a variety of hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers. Install, program, repair and maintain a variety of programmable logic controllers such as the Allen Bradley SLC 500, the GE Fanuc/Cimplicity and Modicon systems. Qualifications Education & ExperienceGrade 10 plus two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of .Knowledge & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.
