As a senior staff member they are responsible for assisting with training, supervising and supporting staff across camp. The Assistant Head of Waterfront assists with the responsibility of the overall safety, regulatory compliance, and operational management of the waterfront area. A primary duty is safety and risk management, which includes enforcing LSS and OCA regulations, leading search and rescue training, and ensuring ongoing staff education in waterfront procedures and risk management. This position ensures effective waterfront management by maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the area, overseeing swim tests, conducting equipment inventories, and managing the proper maintenance of rescue boats and gear. Finally, supervises waterfront staff.  Key Responsibilities Oversee the waterfront, programming and safety  Set an example of how to be an excellent Staff Member at Olympia Exemplify and uphold Olympia’s core values of safety, teamwork, and respect at all times Engage directly with campers, staff, and parents/guardians to ensure a high-quality experience. Build relationships with all clients and communicate clearly with them  Manage Waterfront staff and coordinate waterfront sessions Assist with initial and on-going staff training  Qualifications Required: National Lifeguard  Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C  Clean Police Record Check  Minimum 750 hours of on-job lifeguard experience Pleasure Craft Operator Card (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lead a team  Ability to work long hours  Experience working with youth in a camp setting  Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. A passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic camp environment. Preferred: ORCKA or Paddle Canada Certifications Red Cross Swim Instructor (or equivalent) considered an asset Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor considered an asset What We Offer Competitive salary with room and board included.
