Title: Principal Backend Architect – Ecommerce Platforms Location: Mississauga, Ontario Duration: 6 Months Introduction Join a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to delivering cutting-edge backend solutions for our ecommerce platform. We are seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for technology and a commitment to excellence. Required Skills & Qualifications 8-10 years of experience in backend engineering and cloud computing Proficiency in major cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS Strong understanding of microservices and cloud-native methodologies Expert knowledge of backend technologies including SAP Commerce Cloud, Elastic Search, Redis, MSSQL, and MySQL Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Strong competence in programming languages like Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS Excellent communication and presentation skills Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with ecommerce platforms such as Magento, Mirakl, and Punchouts Understanding of REST, GraphQL, and event-driven architecture principles Experience with APM and monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and Datadog Knowledge of diagramming tools such as Miro and Diagrams.net Day-to-Day Responsibilities Implement backend architectural artifacts and platform-level systems Contribute to and maintain architecture decision records Enable the team to adhere to backend engineering policies and standards Support backend operational practices and drive ecommerce projects Ensure compliance with best practices in disaster resiliency and recovery planning Engage in knowledge transfer, training, and mentoring across the engineering team Company Benefits & Culture Inclusive and diverse work environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Comprehensive benefits package For immediate consideration please click APPLY to begin the screening process with Alex.
