FinOps Business Analyst

Job Summary:The Cloud Cost Management (FinOps) Business Analyst (Level 3, Senior) is responsible for driving cloud financial accountability, cost transparency, and optimization across the organization. This role focuses on implementing FinOps best practices, managing public cloud economics, supporting commercial vendor engagements, and enabling technology teams with actionable insights. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and collaborative skills, along with experience in public cloud cost management and financial analysis.Key Responsibilities:Drive adoption of Cloud FinOps capabilities and best practices across the organization.Develop cost management processes, mechanisms, and controls for ongoing cost transparency and governance.Communicate the value of public cloud use cases to business and technology teams.Provide commercial and economic analysis for strategic vendor engagements.Promote a proactive cost optimization and transparency culture across cloud spend.Identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities and collaborate with technology teams for execution.Track optimization actions and measure associated value.Manage vendor commercial incentives such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and credits.Define advanced cost recovery models for non-standard allocations including shared services, platforms, and SaaS.Monitor cost management compliance across teams and projects.Drive cross-functional engagement through training and communication initiatives.Required Skills:Experience working in a technology department with focus on commercial/financial management.Knowledge of IT infrastructure and public cloud concepts.Experience with public cloud cost management tools (native or third-party).Strong financial analysis skills, including working with large datasets and creating executive-ready insights.Experience delivering presentations to business and technology stakeholders.Ability to work independently in a large organization with a proactive mindset.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Skills:Experience in IT cost management strategies, models, processes, and tools.Experience with chargeback, cost recovery models, TCO, or capacity planning.Experience articulating cloud migration economics and value at executive level.Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cost tools such as Cost Explorer, CURs, Reserved Instances, and vendor discount programs.Understanding of cloud billing processes and procedures.Certifications:FinOps or TBM certifications preferred. Education: Bachelors Degree
