Together, we are EXP.Are you ready to design your future?Be our next Junior Project Controls Specialist Your work environment at EXPA University Grad Hire will primarily assist with various Project Controls tasks, aiming to enhance their understanding of global Project Controls practices.Project Controls is a crucial function within EXP, offering services in Estimating, Planning and Scheduling, Cost Engineering, Management Information & Reporting/Data Visualization. Responsibilities include supporting cost estimation, analysis and control activities, as well as schedule development, maintenance, Progress reporting and monitoring, and other duties necessary to support Projects.What a day at EXP has in store for youHelping collect, sort, and organize cost data for active projectsAssisting with routine tasks related to cost monitoring, cost control standards, and reportingGathering estimate inputs and preparing portions of project budgets, with guidanceApplying unit rates to quantities to help calculate total cost estimatesConducting basic quantity takeoffs from engineering or construction drawingsCompiling and verifying quantity data for comparisons, reconciliations, or estimatesAssisting in preparing and presenting cost and schedule reports for team meetingsSupporting the development of project schedules, including defining activities and estimating durationsCollecting workforce and quantity data to support progress tracking and performance reportingIdentifying relevant information from various disciplines to support cost and schedule updatesReporting schedule variances or changes within assigned tasksWhat your experience looks likeRecently completed Bachelor’s degree (within the past 12 months) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics, or Information AnalyticsStrong academic performance and relevant courseworkClear and confident written and verbal communication skillsPrevious internship or co‑op experience in engineering, construction, or project management is an asset (not required)Basic understanding of engineering drawings, project management principles, or construction processes is helpfulDemonstrated initiative, teamwork, and leadership—whether through academics, sports, clubs, volunteer work, or part‑time rolesA growth mindset and interest in developing expertise in cost estimating, scheduling, analytics, and project reporting EXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
