Description :DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWCo-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across several businesses at TD. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:Leadership talks with key Leaders from across the organizationLunch and Learns on topics such as InnovationDiversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much moreJOB DESCRIPTIONYou will have the opportunity to work with one of our various teams within the Technology group, specifically working on TD’s big data platform (Data-as-a-service or DaaS). Job responsibilities for a Data Engineer Intern/Co-op may vary by area. They may include, but are not limited to the following:Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Methodology (PMLC) to complete specific development tasks for projects Ensure defect-free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding Design, develop and deploy system enhancementsPerform Unit and System Integration testsDocument system deployment plans for system implementation and code deploymentParticipate in Proof-of-Concept (POC) on new technologies and document findings Provide recommendations with full usability analysisPerform root-cause analysis and resolution of application defectsAdhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of coding vulnerabilities Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/deliveryJOB REQUIREMENTSCurrently enrolled in a relevant technology programs, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, Financial Analysis and Risk Management, Computing, etc.Familiarity with at least one of the following technologies: Java, Scala, Python, Pyspark, or SQLPractical experience/knowledge of data generation, data masking, data subsetting, data archiving, data virtualization, project management, management reporting, data modelling, and/or database developmentTest Data Tools Knowledge (CA TDM or Delphix)Familiarity with source code management such as GITFamiliarity with Jira and ConfluenceA thirst for constantly exploring emerging technologySkills that would be an asset, but not requiredFamiliarity with RDBMS, Big dataFamiliarity with Data Warehousing, ETL, ELT conceptsFamiliarity with Pandas, Numpy Scikit-learn, Matplotlb, Ruby, LinuxInterest or aptitude in Financial Systems and the Financial IndustryFamiliarity with Cloud technology (Azure, AWS, GCP)ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONPlease note that this is a general posting.
