Job Description (SHA) - Saskatoon is seeking a Family Physician, Internist or other Specialist with relevant experience to join our team on a part-time contractual basis. The position will be located at the Rehabilitation Centre at Saskatoon City Hospital. We are looking for a passionate, innovative, patient and family-centred care physicians that thrives in an interdisciplinary care environment. The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative team in a tertiary rehabilitation setting and provide service to inpatients as well as participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical teaching of medical students and residents.This position focuses on high-quality, team-based inpatient care of persons with a variety of medical conditions (i.e. brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, deconditioning etc.) Physicians will provide comprehensive care to adult inpatients and participate in the home-based call service. Responsibilities include: Be the most responsible physician for approximately 32 inpatient rehabilitation patients in collaboration with a nurse practitioner Provide daily in-hospital coverage between 0800–1700 Monday to Friday on a weekly schedule Participate collaboratively in the home based call schedule with weekend rounds on urgent patient matters Duties: Daily rounding, admissions, discharge summaries, bedside rounds, communications with allied health care professionals, and participation in teaching, quality improvement initiatives and unit-based metrics Emphasis on management of daily medical care and multidisciplinary collaboration on identified rehabilitation goals of care and transition of care planning This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative care model that values both clinical excellence and systemic change. Job Qualifications The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a regular license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and obtain and maintain membership on the Saskatchewan Health Authority Practitioner Staff. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest and experience in hospital-based medicine available for a start date of December 1st 2025, with later start dates also considered. The successful candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or hold a RCPSC designation in General Internal Medicine or Surgery and hold current ACLS certification. This individual is a team player with exceptional communications skills and able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a complex care environment with a commitment to the provision of high-quality patient and family-centered care. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; in accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
