The Assistant Manager, Public Safety & Guest Experience, will work under the direction of the Manager, Public Safety & Guest Experience and provide direct administrative and operational support to the Public Safety and Operations team. In your role as an Assistant Manager, Public Safety & Guest Experience , your primary accountabilities will be to: Provide operational support to the Public Safety department including scheduling and planning event-based operations and site security personnel. Assist with interpreting, implementing, and maintaining policies, rules and guidelines pertaining to the Public Safety Department. Create schedules for the event and site security teams. Directly Manage physical security systems including access control, alarms, and CCTV. Assist with time approval duties on an as needed basis. Liaise with the Sales department to coordinate parking lot rentals. Coordinate and track security license (BST and AST) requirements. Undertake a variety of research projects as directed by the Operations management team. Undertake a variety of duties during the annual Fair at the PNE including coordinating assigned events, projects and continued administrative support. Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and coordination of departmental training of staff. Perform other related duties as required. What else? 2+ years of previous operational experience, preferably in Public Safety or Guest Experience capacities. Experience with live events, hospitality, or relevant industry considered an asset. Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment, a valid BC Security Worker License. Exceptional planning, organizational, communication and administrative skills. Ability to foster effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, and external contacts. Comfortable with autonomy and working under pressure, with ability to meet multiple service demands simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
