Opened in 2014, it features 305 inpatient beds, extensive outpatient clinics (including diagnostic imaging, medical, pharmacy, and lab services), and integrated research and educational spaces in partnership with McMaster University.Position: Full -Time Security GuardSite: St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, West 5th Campus, 100 West 5th Street, Hamilton, ON L9C 0E3Hours: Monday to Friday (1430-2230 hrs)Payrate: $21.42/hr.Averaging Agreement: Overtime is ESAPosting Date: Jan 26, 2026Internal Posting Closing Date: Jan 30, 2026External Posting Closing Date: Jan 30, 2026Job Description:Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents.Display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Perform a variety of preventative and reactive duties to include, but not limited to interior and exterior patrols within the hospital as well as exterior of all buildings and areas of the organization.Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health ActProvide security escort service to staff and visitors as requested.Accountable for keeping accurate logs and notebook entries of all shift activity and calls for service.Accountable to write accurate reports upon investigations or reportable occurrences in timely manner upon completion of occurrence.Investigate and follow-up of incidents, report writing, door opening requests, CCTV camera reviews.Security Guards shall warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites, patrol assigned areas to monitor activities and ensure client rules and regulations are followed.Requirements:Valid Security License for the province of Ontario Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved providerImmunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella , Covid Vaccine two doses, and two step TB skin testEnglish (oral and written) fluency is a mustMust have one year experience in healthcare security, or law enforcementLegally authorized to work in CanadaDegree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services will be an assetAble to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit testAbility to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of timeMust be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availabilityWhy choose Paladin?Opportunities for training and professional developmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageFree UniformsSecurity license reimbursementDry cleaning & hemming/tailoring allowancePaid vacation & sick daysWork today, get paid today—daily pay availableAdditional perks
