Business Systems Analyst
Line of Business: Digital Technology
What does the LOB do?: Manage the technology behind online and mobile banking apps.
Project: Will be working on multiple projects related to online and mobile banking and AI projects. Potential for new projects and working on existing projects.
Target Start Date: 4/14/2025
Duration: Currently ending Sep. 5th, 2025
Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE? This is a temp to hire so only candidates who are willing to convert will be considered.
Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid - in office every weds and 3rd Friday *Mandatory
Office Location: Toronto
Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday with unpaid 30 minute break. Some flexibility around start and end times.
Potential for OT? Highly unlikely
Interview Process: 3 interviews - 30 mins each - MS teams, 1st with the hiring manager focusing on behavioural questions and experience. 2nd will be with Sr Manager focusing on technical experience and final interview will be with the Director to assess fit.
Timelines: Begin interviewing as of March 25th
Team Size: 16 team members - all BSAs - 5 FTEs and the rest are contractors - collaborative and supportive team, get together every other week to meet and discuss, monthly meetings.
Selling points of the positions: Candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in projects that are impacting the clients front end experience.
Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis? Pod members, product owners, architects, dev leads, QA leads, UX designers.
Job Description:
- Expert in use case activity diagrams
- System use cases showing interaction between user/DCT systems/supporting actors
- Propter notation
- System use cases are NOT screen flow
- Understanding and working with business rules and how they relate to systems
- Understanding data and data movement; integration with external systems
- Facilitating requirement discussions with business and technical resources
- Expert in understanding the software development lifecycle
- Collaborate with UX and content teams
- Supporting QA and using QA tools to do that support
Must Have Requirement:
- Must be willing to convert to Full Time
- 8+ years of experience as a BSA with previous FI experience
- Confluence/JIRA/MS Teams/ALM
- Expert in use case activity diagrams and transforming use cases into stories/scenarios/acceptance criteria for Dev/QA workflow and consumption
- Previous mobile banking experience
- Technical acumen
- Previous API experience
Nice to Have:
- Previous CIBC experience
- CBAP Certification
- Experience working on AI projects *strong nice to have
Soft Skills:
- Great communication skills
- Analytical thinker
- Strong facilitation skills
