Posting ID:    28907Position Type:  Regular   City:  Vancouver, BC, Canada Location:  Vancouver H/O - Canfor/CWPM_1000 Reporting to the Team Lead, Accounting, the Accountant is a part of the Finance Shared Services – Sales & Supply Chain Accounting Team which is focused on Lumber & Pulp Sales and Distribution accounting and reporting.  The Accountant will guide the flow of lumber & pulp finished goods, from mills to customers, and will improve accounting processes through the ERP platform. Collaborative efforts with the team will make the successful candidate an expert in sales and distribution. Additionally, the Accountant actively engages with other teams to enhance ERP utilization and gain a deep understanding of system and product flows.  A Day in the life of an Accountant includes: Sales Accounting and Reporting Support the team in month-end sales accounting close and reporting, including preparing and posting various journal entries Provide support with lumber inventory costing, customer rebate and commission reconciling and reporting, bank reconciliations. Perform month-end sales accounting and reporting tasks, including sub-ledgers and ledgers associated with our Offshore sales offices. Prepare external statistical reports Utilize the understanding of ERP systems and business processes to identify and solve issues by working in collaboration with cross-functional resources Provide support to other members of the sales accounting team Streamline processes, assist in documenting all standard work, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve continuous improvement   System Enhancement & Business Transformation Support system enhancement by participating in the testing and providing feedback in the areas related to the accounting of Internal and External revenue and expenses, transfer pricing, customer rebates, agent commissions, commission sales, etc.  For this role, you’ll come equipped with:2-3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in medium to large sized companies. Experience within the forest products industry or related operations / manufacturing environment an asset.  Completed post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or equivalent. Accounting designation (CPA) or working towards one, an asset.  Strong computer skills and solid background working with Microsoft 365 applications. Practical experience working with ERP systems. Proficiency with JDE and other Oracle systems would be an asset. Well organized, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong customer service skills.  Ability to prioritize, deadline driven and able to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks successfully.  The salary range for this position is: $61,600.00-$88,000.00 Please Note: The range provided is for base salary only.
