Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the Planning & Material Manager and the Materials Coordinator in ensuring seamless completion of outgoing and incoming shipments. Inventory management is an essential function for this position. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies as well as ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 quality programs and procedures. Required Skills and Responsibilities: Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Master Planner, Visual, ERP etc. Knowledge of arithmetic, with the ability to weigh and measure items accurately Working knowledge of safe packing methods The ability to communicate, read and understand information and ideas presented both verbally and written Capable of forecasting, recognizing and solving problems Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner Capable of operating heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane Working Conditions: Must be able to stand and or sit for extended periods of time Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms and/or legs Must be able to lift heavy material (ex. up to 50 lbs.)
