Reporting to the Program Lead, and in alignment with the vision and values of the organization, this position practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals and provides dental health prevention and promotion services for communities and populations in Northern Health.Position can be flexible within NE HSDA. Preference will be given to applicants residing in Fort St. John. Travel is required to provide clinical service in surrounding communities. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30This position is flexible to the Northeast Northern Health region, Preference will be given to applicants residing in Fort St. John. Before applying for a job with Northern Health, please follow these steps on our Qualfications• Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.• Current registration and licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the Province of British Columbia.• Minimum one (1) year recent, related dental hygiene experience including experience in a community health organization or the equivalent working with children, youth, and their families.• Current valid BC driver’s license and use of personal vehicle for business use.Skills and Abilities: • Assessment and Treatment: Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions. • Teaching: Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.• Knowledge Integration: Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.• Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, computer communication means.
