The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facility Engineers (CFEs) on each shift. This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the first line of defense regarding the uptime of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Critical Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track work needed, the Site Operations department performs all preventative and corrective maintenance. Our culture expects and rewards team performance that engages directly with the customers and the facility infrastructure. This is a team that does most of the actual work versus calling upon vendors. As a result, we provide superior service that is faster and more cost effective.Position OverviewThis role is based onsite in Pointe-Claire, QC.One will work Monday - Friday day hours and be critical to maintain the aesthetic of the campus and also assisting the Critical Facilities with any needs on the non-critical side of the entire campus. This role is an important member of our facilities team where we manage some of the most efficient and cost-effective data center facilities in the industry.We take our customer requirements for uptime seriously and keep our facilities maintained to a very high standard to insure uninterrupted service for our customers.If you enjoy working outside with your hands and powered landscaping equipment, you know the importance of getting it right the first time and If you enjoy delighting customers with superior service and you have the desire and ability to do so, then please read onEssential Job FunctionsWork under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environmentManage multiple one-time and/or ongoing projectsRespond to safety and emergency situations and maintain a safe and secure work environmentUse discretion and judgment in organizing workflow and adapting as priorities are modified due to a changing environmentFrequent contact with employees at all levels of the organization; frequent external contact with vendorsFollows written and verbal instructions from the crew leader and clients.Plants new flowers, trees, grass, hedges, and bushes.Maintains gardens and lawns, including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding.Waters plants and lawns and adds fertilizer as needed.Installs outdoor lighting and sprinkler systems.Removes snow, ice, and leaves as needed.Builds and renovates stone pathways, patios, and ledges.Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles.Drives work vehicles to and from sites.Adheres to all safety precautions.Coordinate, and oversee all maintenance vendors to ensure personnel safety, protect the Facility’s equipment.Additional duties may be assigned from time to time.Job RequirementsAt least one year of landscaping experience is preferred, but not required.Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record.Ability to read commercial building blueprints and understand electrical single lines and schematicsKnowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related to mechanical & electrical systemsCandidates must possess reliable transportation for reporting to work for shifts, or emergenciesTravel is expected to be less than 5%, occasionally for training purposesPotential employees must complete a background check successfully​Physical Demands and Special RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
