Job DescriptionProvides companionship and support for clients including both “awake” coverage and “resting” coverageBedside sitting for clients in long term care/retirement facilities, or in private residencesAssist clients with household tasks (ex: light meal prep and housekeeping)Assist clients with mobilityListen, observe and communicate any concerns/changes in the client’s physical, emotional and/or environmental conditionQualificationsHave one of the following qualifications (required):Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program or Supportive Care Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate or completion of Term 1 of a PSW programRN/RPN Student who with a minimum successful completion of year one of the programInternationally licensed Nurse, Midwife or PhysicianPhysical ability to meet the demands of the job (ex: ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach freely for extended periods, ability to lift 23 kg independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to reposition clients in bed)Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer serviceValid First Aid and Level C CPRValid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check Updated TB Test (last 6 months)Proficient verbal and written English communication skills (Additional language skills considered an asset)Additional InformationThis position is a current vacancy Spectrum Health Care is thrilled to be named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
