Responsibilities What your day will look likeDesign & Project ManagementManage mechanical engineering projects for public and private clients across the companyLead and direct multidisciplinary project teamsDesign and build plumbing, drainage, service piping systems, heating, ventilating and air conditioning design, and energy calculationsDesign of piping systems, ventilation and exhaust systemsBusiness DevelopmentManage margins and optimize sales strategies to drive sales revenue, contribute to the company's overall growth, and ensure profitability.Develop and execute effective strategies to generate and manage a robust sales pipeline.Identify and qualify potential customers to build a strong pipeline.Assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and measure their impact on sales while ensuring a positive return on marketing investments by allocating resources efficiently.Conduct market research to gain insights into industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. Monitor the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation.Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.Learning & DevelopmentA commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications What you will need to succeedA degree in mechanical engineeringLicensed to practice as a professional engineer in Manitoba.A minimum of 10 years’ of relevant work experience Experience Expert knowledge of building mechanical systems, design code,s and standardsStrong working knowledge in building plumbing, drainage, service piping systems, heating, ventilating and air conditioning design, and energy calculations using proprietary software packagesExperience in pumping and piping distribution systems, ventilation and exhaust systems for laboratories, machine shops, and process exhaust in commercial settings.Demonstrated abilities in direct digital control systemsDevelopment of design team leadership with the ability to create and manage design budgets, client deliverables and project schedulesDemonstrated ability to develop proposalsDemonstrated ability to prepare capital construction cost estimatesStrong technical report and specification writing skillsWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
