Working within their legislated scope of practice and scope of employment, the Pharmacy Practice Assistant assumes responsibility for their own actions, are accountable to the public and contribute as a healthcare professional to plan of care and function of pharmacy to ensure a safe and healthy environment. The Pharmacy Practice Assistant functions are self-determined, assigned through management, the pharmacist, another Pharmacy Technician or as requested by other members of the care team.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Grade XII plus completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician/Technology Program (accredited program preferred) OR one-year full-time experience as a hospital pharmacy technician OR two years’ experience as a community pharmacy technicianIf the successful candidate is a Registered Technician, they will be compensated according to the Registered Technician payscaleLicensure in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) is an assetTwo years’ experience as a pharmacy technician/pharmacy practice assistant, preferably in a hospital, an assetKnowledge of medical terminology, inventory control and record keepingDemonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medications Basic typing skills or computer/keyboard experience; skills in Microsoft Office SuiteEffective communication and interpersonal skillsCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredMust have reliable transportation as travel may be required (on occasion)  Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certificationsHoursPermanent, Full-time Position, 75 Hours Bi-weekly Compensation and BenefitsPharmacy Practice Assistants: $25.37 - $30.20 Hourly(Registered Technician: $30.52 - $34.43 Hourly) Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
