Job Description: · Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act· Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.· Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.· Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.· Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.· Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.Prerequisites:· Valid Security License for the province of Ontario· Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)· Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology is required· Covid Vaccine two doses· Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test· English (oral and written) fluency is a must· Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)· Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positiono Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availabilityWhy choose Paladin?
