Family Physician with Addiction Medicine

The Village Clinic, our local OAT and addiction clinic in downtown Courtenay is looking for a family physician who has experience with or is interested in learning addiction medicine, to join us. Sadly, Dr Jack Bryant will be retiring in September leaving a big void with a need for another physician. We mainly provide OAT with as needed only primary care. In addition, there is addiction medicine work available to add to this with: - Island Health outreach team, IHOST - Addiction Medicine Consult Services, AMCS at Island Health Why you might be interested: - Paid, flexible OAT training (2 weeks) - Very meaningful and fun work - Team based - Supportive colleagues - Most appreciative of patients - Interesting field of medicine - Nice to have a niche/specialty - AI scribe for quick charting - No call - Intuitive EMR (Oscar Juno) - No billing. Paid competitive day rate by e-transfer - Friendly relaxed clinic with music, snacks & doggies What and When: - 1-2 days at The Village Clinic - Lots of availability for AMCS work - IHOST outreach 1-2 days/week The Island Health Outreach Support Team (IHOST) provides primary care, wound care, addiction care and support to systemically marginalized populations. Addiction Medicine Consult Services (AMCS) teams work with people and clinical colleagues to develop plans for individuals who have been admitted to the hospital due to an acute illness and where their substance use may impact their recovery. Start Date As soon as possible Benefits: May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Recruitment Incentive - $10, Fee Premium - 6.93% Annual Flat Fee - $10,.52 Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to a maximum of $15, (amount based on funding availability and on location relocating from); Rural CME starting at $2,/annum in years 3 & 4 in the community, increasing to a maximum of $4,/annum after 4 years The above amounts are current as of August and may be subject to change.
