We are looking for a full-time Crane Technician to join our team in Wabush, NL. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the crane technician performs inspections and testing on various hoists and cranes to ensure safety certification is in accordance with provincial and federal regulations. The Crane Technician also assists the sales team with quotes and makes recommendations for repair work.We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes:Competitive Wage (Ranging from $35 to $40 depending on experience)Incentive programs availableHealth & Wellness IncentiveDental & Vision benefits RPP matching program Personal & Professional Development OpportunitiesFun & engaging working environmentTravel paidIncentive program for technicianKey ResponsibilitiesPerforms inspections on various hoists and cranesDiagnoses equipment problems and estimates costs of equipment repairs, replacements, maintenance etc.Performs maintenance & trouble shooting on overhead electric cranes and their components and completes required repairsCompletes reports on inspected items neatly and accurately either by Cert Tracker or inspection sheets and submits to administration for processingMaintains paperwork and records of used inventory for billing and certification purposesPicks up and delivers products to customers as required in company truckAssists in the development of efficient and effective work methods that are consistent with the company’s policies and proceduresProvides input to customer quotesCompletes cycle counts of inventory on a periodic basis, as requiredPerforms general labour and/or maintenance workComplies with company quality and safety procedures for completing workFollows customer Safety and Quality rules when working at a customer’s siteMaintains company equipment used on a daily/weekly/monthly basisSome travel, possible work evenings and weekends as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMillwright or Electrical apprenticeRecognized trade qualification as a journeyman Millwright or Electrician considered an assetExperience performing maintenance & trouble shooting overhead electric cranes considered an assetExperience with working at heights, Lifting Gear Inspection, Wire Rope Examiner and ASME/OSHA rigging fundamentals and requirements considered an assetKnowledge of electricity and hydraulics, capable of troubleshooting for general maintenanceMust hold a valid driver’s license and be insurableMust safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist levelEstablishes work priorities, ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followedAbility to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely and efficient mannerCommunicates with customers in a professional mannerMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaThe Hercules Group of Companies is a national leader in industrial lifting, rigging, material handling, and safety solutions, proudly supporting critical industries across Canada.
